About us

Founded in Lagos. Built for everywhere the need reaches.

Chine-Chieze Better World Initiative is a non-profit humanitarian organisation working to improve all facets of human life — starting with children.

Our story

CBWI was founded with one primary objective: to empower children to thrive in circumstances that could otherwise prevent it. Talent and potential are distributed evenly across the world; opportunity is not. That gap is the whole reason this organisation exists.

What began as support for children in Lagos has grown outward. Because a child cannot flourish in a community that is struggling, our work now includes community transformation, sustainable technology and best practices, humanitarian relief and empowerment wherever it is possible.

Our activities are not limited to children. We serve families, elders and whole communities — and where another NGO is already doing excellent work, we aid them rather than duplicate it.

Our mission

To empower people — beginning with children — to overcome the circumstances that limit them, and to strengthen the communities they belong to so that progress endures.

Our vision

A world where no child's future is decided by where they were born, and where every community holds the tools to sustain its own tomorrow.

What we hold to

Our values

Dignity first

People are partners, never projects. Every programme begins by listening.

Local leadership

Communities know their own needs. We resource them rather than override them.

Built to last

We prefer slow, durable change over fast, fragile wins.

Open hands

Where another organisation can serve better, we support them instead of competing.

Where we work

From Lagos, across emerging markets

Nigeria remains our home base and the place most of our programmes begin. From there we work across emerging markets — and, as capacity grows, wherever in the world our support can make a measurable difference.
